About
how it all started
A small group of students who liked making podcasts requested the formation of the club during the 2021/2022 school year. The club began in probation status the following year. Since then, over 60 students have participated.
Where we are now
Starting in the 2024/2025 school year, Club Create is an officially recognized club at LTHS. We have expanded our offerings and acquired sophisticated media production equipment via grant offerings. We are excited for the year.
Where we are heading
As we continue to grow as a club, we will expand learning opportunities, work with other clubs at LTHS, and increase the amount of media we produce. We will also compete with our media at festivals and national contests.
philosophy
We believe everyone is capable of creativity. Club Create welcomes anyone who wants to join regardless of experience. The goal of Club Create is to provide a space where students can explore their creativity, learn new skills, and build a community.
schedule
Club Create meets year round. We will meet 4 to 5 days a week. The schedule is flexible and you do not need to attend all meetings. Come when you are working on a project.

OFFERINGS:
Film:
Students will learn all aspects of filmmaking by producing their own original short films. The club will provide instruction and workshop time to come up with ideas, train on the tech, provide feedback, and work on post production.
Podcasting:
Students will learn podcast production skills by creating their own unique podcasts in both audio and video formats. Like film, students will have the opportunity to plan, learn the tech, and edit during workshop days.
Broadcasting:
This is the newest edition to Club Create. Students will utilize the studio to create news broadcasts with Porter Press. They will also produce news packages by getting footage out in the field. We will also work with Video Club to produce live streamed sporting events with announcers and reporters.
Graphic Design/Photography:
Students will learn the basic concepts of graphic design and photography by creating posters and digital images for their own projects and for school-wide events. They will use Canva and the Adobe Suite to create their designs.
Workshop:
Workshop is an offering for students to work on pre and post production for media. It can also be used to write, draw, paint and create in a more unstructured environment compared to studio time.
